Ben Allamano has been Of Counsel to the firm for several years and has been practicing law for more than 30 years, including fifteen years in the position of Chief Legal Officer for various entities. He has experience before administrative agencies, superior courts, courts of appeal and the California Supreme Court. His primary expertise is in employment law, administrative law, professional licensing law, and education law.
Over the years, Mr. Allamano was the Chief Counsel of the California State Employees Association, General Counsel of the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District and General Counsel of the California Dental Association. Ben was also the Executive Officer/Chief Counsel of the California Agricultural Labor Relations Board.
Mr. Allamano’s expertise in employment law is drawn upon by the firm on behalf of its school district clients. He has provided representation to employers, both in the private and public sectors, for over thirty years.
Mr. Allamano provides representation to state employees in matters before the State Personnel Board, including Skelly hearings, settlements and administrative hearings. He also provides representation to individuals with professional licensing issues before the various boards under the Department of Consumer Affairs, such as the Medical and Dental Boards and other professional licensing boards. If an accusation has been served on a professional or a disciplinary action served on an employee, Ben will assist in negotiating a settlement or in representing the client in an administrative hearing before an Administrative Law Judge and provide representation in court, if necessary.
If further legal services are needed after an administrative hearing, Ben routinely handles petitions for writ of mandate in the superior court and appeals to the courts of appeal. Ben represents employers, employees and licensees throughout California. He has handled numerous administrative appeals, writs of mandate and civil appeals.
